The DAMS




  1. Building large dams can have ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES such as
ADVANTAGES= There are no risks of flooding in the area, and it is more cultivated, also it provides electricity and water supply 
DISADVANTAGES= People living in those areas are forced to move, the ecosystems are completely destroyed, improves de risk of earthqueakes and pollution, also it reduces water life

Resultado de imagen para el chocon argentina patagonia4. In Argentina, Patagonia it is found a dam named "El chocon" and it is formed by the rivers of Neuquén and Rio Negro.
The main reason why this dam was built is because both rivers were increasing their water and was causing problems for the population of the Alto Valle and Valle Medio, since in 1899 there was a huge flooding and consequently it destroyed Viedma and Carmen de Patagones. Later on 1950 it was developed a project by Agua y Energía Eléctrica, although they could not finish setting it up because of the high prices. Finally, in 1967 the dam started being constructed by the "Hidronor"

The main problems for the local people were the potable water, the demand was not being satisfied since the services werenot enough, also the gas and the school enrollment

In the drama class we made a video in which we include one of the techniques we learned in the first term. We chose Theatre in Education and our aim was to transmit how the society depends on technology and the problems this is causing. Theatre in Education is used to encourage effective learning in schools. It´s used by creating something that transmits a message to the audience.
